Northumbria Institute is a state-of-the-art concert venue operated by Northumbria University Student’s Union. The venue was rebranded in early 2017 when a new partnership was ignited between the Student’s Union and SSD Concerts.
The space has fully realised its potential ever since, successfully drawing huge acts to Newcastle such as De La Soul, Garbage, Tom Grennan, Mogwai, Mastodon and Courtney Barnett to name but a few.
The reputation of the venue as a premier performance space continues to grow.
Institute 2, the little sister venue to the larger room, is also well regarded. An ever increasing number of touring acts including Pale Waves, Vant, Demob Happy, Bay Waves and La Fontaines have graced the stage.
